Mystics Add Carla Thomas To Roster

Washington, D.C-Washington, D.C. - Washington Mystics Vice President and General Manager Angela Taylor announced today that Forward Carla Thomas has signed with the team as a free agent. A standout from Vanderbilt University, Thomas was drafted in the first round (10th overall) of the 2007 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky.

In 2007, Thomas saw action in 17 games for the Sky and averaged 2.5 points per game and 1.6 rebounds per game. In 2008, she was acquired by the Atlanta Dream in the expansion draft and was released prior to the season opener. Thomas has played in countries such as France and Italy. She has received numerous international accolades including Eurobasket.com All-French LFB Center of the Year in 2008 and Eurobasket.com All-WABA 2nd Team in 2009. She is currently playing in Croatia and is averaging 15.8 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game.

While at Vanderbilt, Thomas earned All-Southeastern Conference Honorable Mention in 2005 and 2006 and was named the -Southeastern Conference MVP in 2007.
