Mussels and Tarpons Suspended in First Inning Thursday

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Thursday's game between the Mighty Mussels and Tampa Tarpons was suspended in the first inning due to persistent rain and unplayable field conditions.

Trey Sweeney led off the first inning with a single before the tarp was called for. Jackson Hicks threw seven pitches for the Mussels in his Low-A debut.

Thursday's suspended game will be resumed at 7 p.m. on Friday, and the second game of Thursday's doubleheader has been cancelled. The teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Gates will open at 6 p.m. on Friday, as scheduled.

All tickets to Thursday's doubleheader can be exchanged for tickets to any other Mussels game this week.
