Chicago got the scoring going when Eduards Tralmaks put his team up 1-0 via a power play goal with 5:12 remaining in the first period. The Steel would stretch their lead to 2-0 when Brannon McManus scored his 12th goal of the season with 4:09 left in the second period.
Sioux City cut the lead in half with 8:52 remaining in the third period Pospisil scored his 10th goal of the season, his 12th point in his last nine games. Charlie Kelleher and Jacob Wilson picked up assists on the Pospisil goal.
Chicago committed two penalties with less than two minutes remaining, giving Sioux City a 5-on-3 advantage for nearly half a minute before goaltender Todd Scott was lifted for an extra attacker for the final sixty seconds. Despite the 6-on-3 advantage, the Musketeers failed to score as the Steel hung on for the one-goal victory to begin their Western Conference road trip.
