Carolina Mudcats News Release
Zebulon, NC --- The Florida Marlins have made two player changes affecting the Double-A Carolina Mudcats, effective Friday afternoon.
LHP Ray Aguilar has been promoted from High-A Jupiter to Carolina, and will join the club prior to tonight's game against the Tennessee Smokies. Aguilar, who spent the first four years of his pro career in the Atlanta Braves organization, made his debut on June 13th for the Hammerheads, earning a five-inning win over St. Lucie. Aguilar split his time last season amongst four Braves affiliates, including Triple-A Richmond.
RHP Peter Bauer has been reassigned to Triple-A Albuquerque. Bauer went 2-4 with the Isotopes prior to being reassigned to Carolina last week. Bauer took a loss against the Jacksonville Suns, and flew to Memphis to meet the Isotopes earlier today.
The Mudcats roster remains at the Southern League limit of 23 players. The Mudcats were eliminated from the first half race with their seventh straight loss last night.
