Mooseheads Acquire 20-Year-Old Forward Kevin Gursoy

Halifax, N.S. - The Halifax Mooseheads have acquired forward Kevin Gursoy from the Charlottetown Islanders in exchange for a sixth round draft pick in 2021.

The 20-year-old Gursoy has scored 26 points in 35 games this season with Charlottetown and has 84 career points in 157 games since being signed as a free agent by Saint John in 2017. The right-handed shooting Windsor, ON native is 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds. He set a career high with 40 points in 2018-19.

Gursoy joins recent addition Denis Toner as the two current 20-year-old players on the Mooseheads roster. There is one more overage spot available following previous trades this week that sent Walter Flower to Rimouski, Patrick Kyte to Chicoutimi and Maxim Trepanier to Shawinigan.

The QMJHL trade period runs until Monday, January 6th at Noon ET.
