Mooseheads Acquire 1st Round Pick for Patrick Kyte

December 15, 2019 - Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) - Halifax Mooseheads News Release

Halifax, N.S. - The Halifax Mooseheads have acquired a first round pick in the 2020 QMJHL Entry Draft from the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in exchange for defenceman Patrick Kyte.

Kyte leaves the Mooseheads after playing in 156 career games since being signed as a free agent in 2017. The 20-year-old from Pembroke, ON scored 69 points with Halifax, added 131 penalty minutes and maintained a +/- of +27. He also appeared in 32 career playoff games.

General Manager Cam Russell has begun to restock his draft picks after previously dealing his own 2020 first round pick to Gatineau in the Maxim Trepanier trade last winter.

The QMJHL trade period opened today and runs until Monday, January 6th at Noon ET.
