PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Cougars are pleased to announce defenceman Cole Moberg ('00) has signed a one-year professional tryout contract with the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League (AHL). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"This is a great opportunity for Cole to continue to his development at the professional level," said Cougars' General Manager & Head Coach Mark Lamb. "His signing is a reflection of the hard-work and commitment he has put into getting himself ready for the next step."

Moberg, 20, was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 7th round, 194th overall, in the 2019 NHL Draft. The North Vancouver, BC product was the Cougars' top scoring defenceman in the 2019-20 season, after he compiled 37 points (13g, 27a) in 58 regular season games. In the 2018-19 season, Moberg had a career high 40 points (13g, 27a) in 61 games. In 187 career regular season games, Moberg had 89 points (29g, 60a) and 101 penalty-minutes.

The Cougars signed Moberg to a Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement in August 2016.

The Rockford IceHogs are the AHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks. The IceHogs were established in 1999 and played in the United Hockey League before joining the AHL in the 2007-08 season.
