Drafted 10th overall in the first ever MLR Draft in 2020, Andrew Guerra has already made an impact at NOLA. Making 12 appearances in his debut season, the Chicago-native led his team in tackles, with 149 successful attempts, five of which were dominant.

Coming out of Notre Dame College, Guerra proved that hard work pays off with his performances in 2021. Playing at flanker, Guerra regularly secured the ball for his team in attack, arriving at 261 attacking rucks in order to keep his team on the front foot.

Due to his infallible work rate and desire, Guerra was rewarded with a call-up from Gary Gold to the USA Eagles squad that toured England and Ireland, winning his first cap against Ireland in Dublin.

At 23 years old, Guerra has been able to lean on the experiences of Cam Dolan, Dino Waldren and Kane Thompson at the Gold Mine, no doubt aiding him in his first year as a professional rugby player.

No doubt there is more to come from Guerra, but as first seasons go, that one was quite the start.
