Mitch Moreland to Rehab in Frisco

FRISCO, TEXAS (JULY 26, 2012) - Texas Rangers first baseman and former Frisco RoughRiders player Mitch Moreland will return to Dr Pepper Ballpark on Friday to continue a rehab assignment. Friday's game against the San Antonio Missions is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Moreland was placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Rangers on June 22 with a strained left hamstring. He began his rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock earlier this week and was 1 for 6 in two games. In 55 games this season, the 26-year-old is batting .272 for Texas with ten home runs, eight doubles and 25 runs batted in.

The former Mississippi State Bulldog played in 73 games for the RoughRiders in 2009. Playing in both the outfield and at first base, Moreland hit .326 with eight home runs, 19 doubles, three triples and 59 runs batted in.
