Bradenton Marauders News Release

BRADENTON, FL - The Bradenton Marauders are happy to announce that Samantha Caudill, featured as a missing child on the team's recent ‘Marty the Marauder' poster giveaway, was safely found in Englewood, FL.

"While there is not a direct link from the posters to her recovery, your team did raise awareness for her in a big way," said Dennis Bair of The BairFind Foundation. The Marauders partnered with the organization to help raise awareness for missing children in the United States. "She has been safely recovered!"

Bair is a former minor league baseball player, eighth round pick of the Chicago Cubs in 1995 and a native of Pittsburgh, PA. He founded The BairFind Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to create opportunities to help locate and recover missing children, and to raise public awareness for missing children in the United States. Bair has teamed with various minor league baseball clubs, placing pictures and vital information of missing children on team posters and photos.

The Marauders poster giveaway on July 10th was the foundation's first initiative for the 2011 season. Caudill was recovered in Englewood nine days after the giveaway.

"The news of Samantha's recovery is just outstanding," said Pittsburgh Pirates Senior Director of Florida Operations Trevor Gooby. "We understand there is no direct link between the Marauders poster and her being found, but we're so happy to have been able to play even the smallest role in making sure she's home safe. We'd like to thank Dennis Bair for allowing us the chance to help. Our best wishes go out to Samantha and her family."
