Miracle Close Year With Attendance Mark

FORT MYERS, FL (August 29, 2008) - The Fort Myers Miracle ended the 2008 season on Sunday, shattering the single-season attendance mark. The Miracle saw 124,749 fans file thru the Hammond Stadium gates. The mark eclipsed the previous record set in 2006 (116,397).

Hammond Stadium was witness to 68 home dates, with the Miracle averaging 1,835 per contest. The club has drawn 1,755,101 fans in 17-years of professional baseball in Southwest Florida.

Six of the last seven seasons, including four straight years, the Miracle have drawn over 100,000 fans.

The 2008 season saw the Miracle draw the second-largest crowd in club history on Friday, April 4 when 8,215 patrons attended the game against Sarasota. The Miracle also welcomed a top-10 crowd on Thursday, July 3 as 7,471 fans took in the Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza Show.

The Miracle will host Game Two, of the Florida State League's West Division Series, against Dunedin on Wednesday, September 3 at 7:05 p.m. If necessary, the Miracle will also host Game Three on Thursday, September 4 at 7:05 p.m.
