Iowa to host Rockford on Thursday

DES MOINES, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Wednesday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled goaltender Niklas Svedberg from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) under emergency conditions.

In addition, Iowa Wild General Manager Brent Flahr announced the club has recalled Adam Vay from the Rapid City Rush - Iowa's ECHL affiliate.

Svedberg, 28 (9/4/89), is 3-6-1 with a 2.84 goals-against average (GAA), a .904 save percentage (SV%) and one shutout in 10 games with Iowa this season. He posted a 14-17-12 record with a 2.99 GAA, a .897 SV% and one shutout in 48 games with Salavat Yulaev in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in 2016-17. The 6-foot-1, 168-pound native of Sollentuna, Sweden, posted a 29-19-3 record with a 2.37 GAA, a .916 SV% and five shutouts in 53 games with Salavat Yulaev in 2015-16 - his first season in the KHL. Svedberg is 8-5-1 with a 2.31 GAA, a .920 SV% and two shutouts in 19 career NHL games, played in parts of two seasons with Boston (2013-15). He was signed to a one-year, two-way contract by Minnesota on July 1, 2017 and will wear sweater No. 35 with the Wild.

Vay, 23 (3/22/94), started in net for Iowa on October 28 in Tucson, which marked his regular-season AHL debut.

The Iowa Wild hosts the Rockford IceHogs at Wells Fargo Arena at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday for the Wild About Education School Day Game.
