Meagan Reid Named Dance Coach of Ticats Dance & Cheer Team

March 11, 2019 - Canadian Football League (CFL) - Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Monday the appointment of Meagan Reid as Dance Coach of the Ticats Dance & Cheer Team.

"I'm thrilled to be returning to my Hamilton roots and leading the Ticats Dance & Cheer Team! My CFL career has come full circle and I couldn't be more excited to be a part of this organization again, and to get the 2019 season started," said Reid. "Throughout auditions, we will be looking for enthusiastic women and men who are great dancers and embody the characteristics of our fans and community - passion, commitment and a love of Tiger-Cats football!"

Reid grew up in Norfolk County (Ontario) and has over 15 years of experience as a dancer and cheerleader in the Canadian Football League, serving seven of those seasons as a dance coach. In 1999, she joined the Tiger-Cats dance team, citing the memorable Grey Cup championship that year as what sparked her passion and love for the CFL. After six seasons in Hamilton, Reid completed her Master's of Clinical Science in Audiology at the University of Western and moved to Calgary to work as an Audiologist. She joined the Calgary Stampeders Outriders for the next nine seasons, spending the last seven of those years as Dance Coach.

"We're always looking for ways to enhance and evolve the fan experience at Tim Hortons Field, and adding a coach of Meagan's calibre to oversee the dance and cheer team is extremely exciting for Ticats fans," said Matt Afinec, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Tiger-Cats. "In addition to choreographed on-field performances, pumping up the crowd from the sidelines, and engaging and interacting with the fans at home games throughout Tim Hortons Field, the Ticats Dance & Cheer Team will also play a major role as Tiger-Cats ambassadors in the Hamilton community."

Auditions to be part of the 2019 Ticats Dance & Cheer Team will take place Sunday, March 24 in the Caretaker's Club at Tim Hortons Field (Gate 3 - 64 Melrose Ave. N, Hamilton, ON L8L 8C1). For more information, please visit or email
