Mayhem Sign Experienced Winger Klecha for 18-19 Season

August 10, 2018 - Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) - Macon Mayhem News Release

MACON, GA - The Macon Mayhem and Director of Hockey Operations Leo Thomas announced the return of Mayhem winger Dakota Klecha for the 18-19 season.

"We brought in Klecha via trade last year and he immediately brought speed and skill to ourclub" said Thomas. "I think he knows the league really well now and could put up even better numbers this upcoming season"

Klecha, 26, returns this season after being traded to the Mayhem towards the end of last season. While in a Mayhem uniform, Klecha played in 17 games recording 5 goals and 10 assists for 15 points. The Taylor, MI native also recorded 5 points in the Mayhem's playoff run last season.

"I'm excited to head back down to Macon to have another great opportunity for a shot at the title" Klecha explained. We have a strong core coming back along with some great new additions that will be an automatic impact for our team"

Klecha continued on to say, "I'm excited to play for Coach Leo in his first year as a head coach. He's played and coached at this level so he knows what it takes to win. I am ready for the season to get started and have another great season."

Prior to coming to the Mayhem, the 5-9 175 pound, Klecha spent time with the Fayetteville Marksmen and the Peoria Rivermen of the SPHL. Klecha spent one year playing in Poland for Orlik Opole of the top Polish league. Prior to turning pro, Klecha spent time at Ferris State University at the NCAA Division 1 level.
