Matt Ridings Transferred to Naturals

SPRINGDALE, Ark. - The Naturals' parent club, the Kansas City Royals announced a pair of transactions on Monday affecting the Northwest Arkansas roster. Right-handed pitcher Nick Rogers has been transferred to Rookie-Advanced Idaho Falls' roster, while right-handed pitcher Matt Ridings has been transferred from the Idaho Falls roster to the Naturals' roster. Ridings is active for tonight's game against the Springfield Cardinals.

Rogers has appeared in five games for the Naturals, throwing a total of seven innings. Rogers is 0-0 with one save on April 13 against the Midland RockHounds. In his five appearances, Rogers has given up four runs on four hits with five walks and six strikeouts. In yesterday's 8-2 loss to the Tulsa Drillers, Rogers pitched in the eighth inning, surrendering two runs on one hit with three walks.

Ridings spent 2012 with Class-A Kane County and Class-A Advanced Wilmington. In 21 appearances with the Cougars, Ridings was 4-3 with two saves and a 2.43 ERA. He was named a Midwest League All-Star. Following his promotion to Wilmington, Ridings appeared in 15 games with 10 starts, compiling a 6-2 record with a 2.74 ERA in 65.2 innings.

Ridings will wear number 17 for the Naturals. Following the transaction, the Naturals' roster is currently at the Texas League limit of 25 players.
