Atlanta United FC News Release
ATLANTA - Atlanta United returns to action on Sunday, May 13 when it travels to face Orlando City SC. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 6 p.m. EST and will be nationally televised on FS1.
Atlanta remains in first place in the Eastern Conference with 22 points from 10 matches and is riding a three-game road-winning streak into Orlando City Stadium. Atlanta suffered its first home loss of the season May 9, falling 2-0 to Sporting Kansas City at Mercedes-Benz Stadium behind a pair of second-half goals from Daniel Salloi and Gerso Fernandes. Goalkeeper Brad Guzan received a red card in the 34th minute for a tackle on Khiry Shelton, forcing Atlanta to play down a man for the remainder of the match. Atlanta forced eight saves from SKC goalkeeper Tim Melia but couldn't find a goal, snapping its unbeaten streak of eight consecutive matches, which equaled the longest unbeaten streak in club history.
Orlando City extended its club-record six-game winning streak by defeating Real Salt Lake 3-1 on May 6. RSL opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Corey Baird, but second-half goals from Dom Dwyer, Lamine Sané and Yoshimar Yotún capped off another comeback win for the Lions, who sit in third place in the Eastern Conference with 19 points.
