Match Notes: Atlético Ottawa at York United FC Sept 14

September 14, 2021 - Canadian Premier League (CPL) - Atletico Ottawa News Release

Atlético Ottawa returns on the road this Tuesday, this time travelling down to North York to face York United FC (KO 7PM, live on OneSoccer) and will be looking to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss against Halifax on the weekend.

Atlético Ottawa striker Malcolm Shaw was selected on the Gatorade Team of the Week for Week 12 after scoring the side's lone goal on Saturday, his seventh on the season, positioning him in second position and only four goals behind league-leading Joao Morelli in the golden boot race.

Shaw enters Tuesday's match with six goals in his last 10 matches.

Ottawa will face a bolstered York United FC team that secured an important win over Forge FC on the weekend, winning 2-0 at Forge's home pitch.

Head Coach Mista continues to focus on progress, something his side has shown plenty of over the past two months. With 5 players 19 years old or younger, and two more clocking in at only 20 years old, continued development will be as big for this season's results as it will be in setting the club up for success in the future.

OUT: Brandon John (injury, season); Vashon Neufville (injury); Drew Beckie (medical); Ryan Telfer (suspension; red card).

In accordance with TD Place updated policy, media members, including photographers, attending Atlético Ottawa matches at TD Place will be required to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide proof of vaccination along with photo identification on entry, effective September 12 (Atlético Ottawa matches from September 25 onward). Details on the TD Place policy can be found on its Safety Hub. Photographers requesting field access will continue to require rapid testing before each match per CPL protocols.
