Marcus Tryfon Final Pick of Erie Otters

Erie, Pennsylvania - Thus brings about the end of the 2022 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection Draft - the 27th participated in in team history for the Erie Otters.

In the 15th and final Round, with the 285th overall pick, the Otters would take 5'10", 160 lbs. Defenseman Marcus Tryfon (Vaughan Kings U16 AAA). General Manager Dave Brown and Director of Hockey Operations Scott Grieve made the final selection official Friday afternoon, for day two of the 2022 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection Draft.

Tryfon, a 15-year-old from Oakville, ON comes in as the final member of the 2022 Draft Class after spending the 2021-22 season with the Vaughan Kings U16 AAA and a game with the OJHL's Milton Menace. In the OHL Cup with with Vaughan, Tryfon would grab three points (0G+3A) in five games with a +1.

Marcus Tryfon join picks Malcolm Spence (2nd overall), Jacob Gibbons (38th overall), Logan Sawyer (41st overall), Nicholas Holomego (85th overall), Ty Henry (109th overall), Landon Watson (114th overall), Jack Good (125th overall), Payton Stowe (165th overall), Georgy Torptsev (185th overall), Brayden Stumpf (205th overall), Cole Bartnick (225th overall), Thomas Kuipers (245th overall), MacKenzie Curd (247th overall), Jonathan Morello (260th overall), and Brady Coe (265th overall) as the new Otters hearing their names called in the 2022 Priority Selection.

The Erie Otters are thrilled to welcome Marcus to the Flagship City, and see what he can bring to Erie in the Fall.
