March Edition of The Inside Pitch Airs Wednesday
WINNIPEG, MB - "The Inside Pitch," the off-season radio show of the Winnipeg Goldeyes, returns to the airwaves Wednesday, March 27th on the Goldeyes' official broadcast partner 93.7 FM CJNU.
The show airs live from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Central Time.
March's guest panel includes Goldeyes' manager Rick Forney, St. Paul Saints' broadcaster Sean Aronson, new Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks' manager James Bennett, Arizona Diamondbacks' Special Assignment Scout Chris Carminucci, and Goldeyes' shortstop Adrian Marin.
Forney is heading into his 14th year as Goldeyes' manager, and his 23rd overall within the organization. During his first 13 seasons at the helm, Forney has guided Winnipeg to an overall .545 winning percentage, 10 winning seasons, nine playoff appearances, and an American Association-record three championships (2012, 2016, 2017).
Aronson enters his 13th season as the Saints' play-by-play voice, and was named Ballpark Digest's Broadcaster of the Year in 2016. Aronson has called more than 1,000 Saints games, and is the longest tenured voice in the franchise's 27-year history. The Californian is also the founder and host of "The Voice Behind the Voice," a podcast that spotlights the careers of broadcasters at the highest levels of sports.
Bennett was introduced last week as the third manager in Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks' history. A former minor league pitcher and long-time minor league pitching coach, Bennett was recently named pitching coach for the Australian National Team. Since 2015, Bennett has served as pitching coach for the Australian Baseball League's Brisbane Bandits where he has helped the club to four consecutive ABL championships.
Carminucci is in his seventh year overseeing the Diamondbacks' independent league scouting efforts, while also contributing to the club's Major League scouting department. Carminucci played a significant role in the Diamondbacks' acquisition of 2018 Silver Slugger winner David Peralta, and has signed numerous other American Association players to affiliated contracts. Carminucci recently authored "Sign Me," a book geared to help players looking to continue their careers in independent baseball.
Marin was signed on January 29th, and is projected to be the Goldeyes' shortstop this season. The Miami, Florida native was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the third round in 2012, and spent the majority of last season playing at the Triple-A level. Marin has a lifetime .966 fielding percentage in 598 games at shortstop, and was twice assigned by the Orioles to the prestigious Arizona Fall League.
93.7 FM CJNU has been the Goldeyes' official broadcast partner since 2016, and will once again carry all spring training, regular season, and potential playoff games. Last October, the Goldeyes and CJNU extended their partnership through the 2020 season.
