Mammoth Defeat Visiting Roughnecks 12-7

Denver, CO - The Colorado Mammoth stretched a 3-1 first-quarter lead to a 12-7 victory over the Calgary Roughnecks on Sunday afternoon at the Pepsi Center to record their first win of the 2018-19 National Lacrosse League season.

Ryan Benesch (3g, 4a) scored on the power play 3:24 into the fourth-quarter to complete a hat trick and tally a game-leading seven point effort for the Mammoth. Eli McLaughlin (2g, 4a) was another top performer for the home club with six points.

Ryan Martel, who now has a career high of four goals, led Calgary's offence with one marker and three assists. Dan Taylor (2g, 1a), also posting a career high seven goals in six regular season games, and Riley Loewen (2g) each tallied a pair of goals for the Roughnecks. Curtis Dickson (1g, 2a) and Tyler Burton, with his first of the season, rounded out the scoring for the visitors.

Forward Dane Dobbie assisted on two goals for the Roughnecks to record his 400th NLL career assist in the loss against the Mammoth.

The Roughnecks are now on a bye-week and return to action on Feb. 2 when they welcome the Vancouver Warriors to the Socitabank Saddledome for the Maritimes Kitchen Party. The festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. with music and pub-style games on the concourse. Roughneck's fans that arrive at the 'Dome between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. will receive a complimentary voucher for a beverage and a slice of pizza or a burger. Bring your spoons and play along to the Maritimes tunes during a halftime performance by The Novascotiables.

Single game tickets are now on sale for as low as $39.78 for adults (plus GST and applicable fees). Fans are encouraged to take advantage of the three new zones that offer enhanced fan experience and preferred pricing. These include the Student Zone with tickets available for $15 (plus GST and applicable fees), the Rough House Reserved available for $20 (plus GST and applicable fees) and the Family Zone.
