Mainers Opening Day, Schedule Set

SANFORD - The Sanford Mainers officially announced the kick-off to the 2019 season, with their home opener scheduled for Friday, June 7 against the defending New England Collegiate Baseball League champions, the Valley Blue Sox.
The Mainers will start the season on the road on Wednesday, June 5 as they pay a visit to the North Adams SteepleCats.
A few highlights of the 2019 schedule include, a home-and-home doubleheader with the Ocean State Waves on Friday, June 21 at Goodall Park. The Mainers will be the acting away team in game one, beginning at 4 p.m., with the Moose returning as the home team in game two at 6:30 p.m.
This year, the month of June is a weekend-friendly schedule, with the Mainers having home games on each Friday of the month, including two Saturday contests. The Mainers schedule also features two Sunday home games in 2019 - something that is slightly different than what fans have been used to in the past. For convenience, the July 7th and 14th games will have a first-pitch time slated for 4:30 p.m.
