Lynx Announce 2017 Television Schedule
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced their television schedule for the upcoming 2017 WNBA season. This season FOX Sports North will expand its coverage with 17 Lynx games to be televised locally.
"We are excited by the opportunities that this expanded broadcast schedule provides our team," said Lynx President Chris Wright. "We are confident this will not only give our dedicated Lynx fan base more access to watch our games, but that it will also expose new local audiences to this talented group and continue to build on our success as a franchise."
Every home game will be televised, including the Sunday, May 14 Home Opener against Chicago and the Friday, August 11 rematch of the 2016 WNBA Finals against Los Angeles. The network will also broadcast five road games.
"We have worked closely with the team and some of our key stakeholders in order to help expand coverage of this great game," said Senior Vice President and General Manager of FOX Sports North Mike Dimond. "We are especially proud to provide more Lynx coverage than ever before."
This season marks the seventh consecutive season that Marney Gellner will serve as the television play-by-play announcer and Lea B. Olsen returns for her ninth season as the Lynx television color analyst. FOX Sports North is celebrating its 19th year of telecasting Lynx games.
In addition to the games on local television, the Lynx will be featured on ESPN2 for seven games this season. Fans can also listen to every Lynx home game on the team's flagship station 106.1 BOB FM.
