LumberKings announce 2018 promotional schedule

Clinton, IA - The 2018 Clinton LumberKings promotional schedule is here! And it features Margaritaville, three Bobblehead giveaways, five fireworks nights, and Ashford University Field's first 80's night since August 26th, 1989.
Ashford University Field is set to celebrate its 82nd year of baseball and it's 55th season as the home of the last remaining charter member of the Midwest League, the Clinton LumberKings. The greatest mascot this side of the Mississippi, Louie the LumberKing will be joining in the summer of fun with his 25th Birthday Bash. All Mascots and fans are invited to Louie's party which Louie has decided to host at the ballpark on June 22nd when the LumberKings take on the Kane County Cougars.
Arriving early to the ballpark in 2018 will be a must with a schedule loaded with 18 separate giveaway dates. The LumberKings will boast the most bobblehead nights in franchise history, the most firework nights in three seasons, and the return of the ever popular "Stay Late Saturday Concert Series."
The Bobblehead Series
On June 8, Mariners superstar infielder Kyle Seager will be the subject of the first bobblehead of the season. Seager's bobblehead give away will coincide with Star Wars Night at Ashford University Field and his Seattle Mariners Bobblehead will thus be Star Wars themed. Seager spent the majority of his 2009 season with the Clinton LumberKings. Since graduating to the Major Leagues in 2011, Seager has been a pillar of offense in the middle of the Mariners lineup. His exploits in the Big Leagues have earned him a Gold Glove and an All-Star Game selection during the 2014 season.
On July 28, former LumberKing standout James Paxton will be featured in a Seattle Mariners themed bobblehead giveaway. Paxton was a fixture in the LumberKings 2011 starting rotation going 3-3 with a 2.73 ERA over 10 starts before finishing his season with the Double-A Jackson Generals. The left-handed starter is coming off the most productive season of his Big League career leading the Mariners in wins, 12, strikeouts, 156, while posting the lowest ERA by qualified starters, 2.98.
The third and final bobblehead giveaway of the 2018 season will come on August, 17 with Casey's 50th Anniversary and Mediacom Ketel Marte bobblehead giveaway night. Marte spent parts of two seasons in Clinton, including making his American professional debut with the LumberKings in 2012. The Dominican native made his Major League debut with the Seattle Mariners in 2015. Prior to the 2017 season Marte was sent to the Arizona Diamondbacks in a five-player trade. He is projected to open the 2018 season as the Diamondbacks primary shortstop.
Stay Late Saturday
Back by popular demand are the "Stay Late Saturday Concert Series." Seven times during the 2018 season we invite fans of all ages to stick around the ballpark following the game for postgame concerts at Ashford University Field. Every Saturday home game from June 2nd through August 25th the fun continues with postgame concerts from:

Fireworks Spectacular
Come cheer the LumberKings to victory and then stay after the game as the entertainment takes to the sky with a Fireworks Spectacular. All Firework shows will fall on Fridays in 2018 with the exception of the Wednesday Clinton 4th of July Festival. The LumberKings will host their postgame firework shows following games on:

Margaritaville Specialty Jersey
August 4 will see a different looking LumberKings team take the field as part Clinton's first ever Margaritaville. Decked out in special tropically themed Margaritaville jerseys, LumberKings fans will see Ashford University Field transformed into a Cantina Oasis. Following the conclusion of the game, the fun continues with a postgame concert from the Slough Buoys.
1st Gateway Credit Union '80's Night
On August 26, 1989 the, then, Clinton Giants dropped the final home game of the season, 10-2 to the Peoria Chiefs. Now, nearly 30 years later, the LumberKings are looking for revenge in the first 80's night since 1989. 1st Gateway Credit Union '80's night will feature music and games from one of the most memorable decades ever. In the true spirit of 80's night, the first 250 fans through the gates will receive a phone book to immerse themselves in a simpler time before smart phones. Following the game, the 80's music continues when AC/DC cover band "Rolling Thunder" takes the stage for a postgame concert.
Special Events
Ashford University Field will play host to not just the Clinton LumberKings throughout the course of the 2018 season but select special events. On Fourth of July Eve, July 3rd while the team is on the road, the Clinton Area Rod Club will hold a car show on 6th avenue north next to the stadium. Starting at 5 PM car enthusiasts can feast their eyes on some of the finest cars ever made. Starting as 6:30 PM fans of cars and music alike can begin to file into the ballpark for concert from Bowman, Pickney, & Evans. Tickets for the concert will be $5 will all proceeds going to benefit the Clinton 4th of July Festival.
The LumberKings will again open the gates to Ashford University Field while the team is on the road on June 15th. Come join the LumberKings for a night of fun and music as we tip our hats to rock legend Tom Petty with The Tom Petty tribute band "Free Fallin'." The gates will open at 5 PM with food, beverages, and beer served at select concession stands at the ballpark.
Nightly Specials
Fans will also be given nightly opportunities to take advantage in brand new nightly specials. For all Tuesday home games fans can take part in "Two Dollar Tuesdays." The LumberKings will be offering $2 tickets, $2 box seat upgrades, $2 Miller Lite and Coors Light tall boys, $2 soft drinks, $2 hot dogs, and $2 ice cream all game long.
For all 11 Wednesday home games, fans 21 years and older, can join us for "Retro Beer Nights." Think back to simpler times on Wednesday nights with retro beers Hamm's, PBR, and Miller High Life offered at a retro price of just two dollars apiece. These retro suds will be available to fans out of the first base beer stand only.
Back by popular demand are Thirsty Thursdays! For all fans 21 years and older, the LumberKings will be serving $2 Miller Lite and Coors Light Tall Boys from 5-8 PM.
Sunday's are for the family and the LumberKings are happy to partner with Children's Discovery Center for Funday Sunday. Kids can take part in face-painting and balloon artists during the game and following the contest, can take to the field for the postgame kids run the bases. Special ticket offers are available for Sunday games, two adult and four child general admission tickets are available for just $25. As part of All Faiths Day $4 dollar general admission tickets are available to all fans who show a church bulletin.
