Luke Harper to Headline IceRays' Pro Wrestling Night; V.I.P.Meet & Greet Announced

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Former WWE Intercontinental Champion, two-time SmackDown Tag Team Champion, NXT Tag Team Champion and Slammy Award-winner Luke Harper will appear next month as the Corpus Christi IceRays host Pro Wrestling Night presented by Bud Light on Friday, Jan. 10, 2020 at American Bank Center. Faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m. as the IceRays take on the Shreveport Mudbugs in North American Hockey League ("NAHL") action. The IceRays announced Monday that Harper will headline the event, including a V.I.P. Meet & Greet session with a select number of fans.
The V.I.P. Meet & Greet will take place at American Bank Center prior to the game. Fans purchasing the V.I.P. package receive entry to an exclusive question-and-answer session with Harper, private autograph signing with Harper (limit two additional items), a commemorative IceRays Pro Wrestling Night autographed puck, V.I.P. lanyard and professional picture with Harper taken by the team photographer (emailed after the game). The V.I.P. package, which includes admission to the hockey game, is on sale now for just $35 while supplies last. The V.I.P. package can be purchased by phone at 361-814-PUCK (7825) or fans can fill out the form at goicerays.com/wrestlingnight to initiate the purchase.
Fans attending the game but not purchasing the V.I.P. package will have the opportunity to meet Harper at the game through a signing in the arena concourse. Additional details will be announced on game day.
Harper, real name Jonathan Huber, signed with World Wrestling Entertainment ("WWE") in 2012, originally appearing in NXT as part of The Wyatt Family with current Universal Champion Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan. The trio was called up to the main roster in July 2013 and found much success, feuding with superstars like John Cena, The Shield, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar and more. Harper won the Intercontinental Championship from Dolph Ziggler on Raw on Nov. 17, 2014, and along with Rowan (now known together as the "Bludgeon Brothers"), captured his second WWE Tag Team Championship in a triple threat match against The Usos and The New Day at WrestleMania 34 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Outside of professional wrestling, Huber has also acted for various projects, including starring in the 2018 movie Mohawk (currently available on Netflix), and a guest role on Damnation on USA Network (2017).
IceRays Pro Wrestling Night presented by Bud Light will also include in-ring matches presented by Gulf Coast Wrestling Alliance ("GCWA"), a longtime independent wrestling company in the Corpus Christi area. GCWA matches and special appearances will be announced in the coming weeks. Autographed prizes from various wrestling organizations will be given away at the game through fan contests. Wrestling theme music will be played during game stoppages. A special IceRays jersey signed by wrestlers will be auctioned to raise money for charity-details to be announced soon.
The IceRays are off this week for the holiday before returning to action for a New Year's Eve home game against the Mudbugs at 5:35 p.m. CT. The game will mark the third contest of an eight-in-a-row stretch for the IceRays against the Mudbugs. Tickets for all 2019-20 IceRays games are on sale at the American Bank Center Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets.
