Luc Brodeur-Jourdain to Return in 2019
Montreal - The Montreal Alouettes announced on Friday that the club has re-signed veteran offensive lineman Luc Brodeur-Jourdain to a new one-year-deal.
Brodeur-Jourdain (6'2", 309 lbs.) will play a 12th season with the Alouettes, the team that drafted him in the sixth round (48th overall) in 2008. Last season, the Saint-Hyacinthe, QC native played 13 games with Montreal, including three as a the starting centre, out of which two were wins to close out the season. During his career, the three-time Vanier Cup champion dressed for 167 games, starting 126 of them. He helped the team hoist the Grey Cup twice in 2009 and 2010.
"We are extremely happy that Luc will return with the Alouettes in 2019. His experience and knowledge of the game are important assets for our young players", said Alouettes General Manager Kavis Reed. "We know we can expect Luc to remain an example for his teammates, whether it's on or off the field."
Always active in the community since his arrival with the Alouettes in 2009, notably with the Together at School with the Alouettes program, the 35-year-old won the Jake-Gaudaur Veterans' Award, which is handed to the CFL player who better possesses and demonstrates the commendable attributes of Canada's Veterans, in 2017. In 2015, Brodeur-Jourdain was voted the Alouettes Most Outstanding Canadian player, two years after getting the nod as the team's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman. In 2012 and 2014, he was elected to the East Division All-Star Team.
