Off the ice, the league saw strong attendance around the league and a couple of "NHL Vets" appeared in the league.

The Winston-Salem Parrots saw their eight game winning streak come to an end on Friday night as Macon defeated the Parrots 4-3 in Winston-Salem. The Trax three game winning streak ended on Sunday when Knoxville defeated Macon 4-3.

O'Ree, the "Jackie Robinson of Hockey",who broke the color barrier in the NHL 45 years ago this month with the Boston Bruins, appeared at the Trax two home games, and made a number of other appearances in the Macon area.

Former New York Ranger, Ron Duguay, signed with the Jacksonville Barracudas and played in two games this past week. Duguay assisted on two goals before deciding to re-retire.
