Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers continue to stockpile non-import talent for the team's defensive secondary with the signing of safety Ian Logan.
Logan (5-9, 190, Wilfrid Laurier '05 DOB: Aug. 19, 1982 in Waterloo, Ont.) was a standout during his five seasons with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks. He was a two-time Canadian Interuniversity Sport first team all-star (2003 and '04) and was an Ontario University Athletics first team all-star three straight years (2003-05).
A two time Wilfrid Laurier team MVP, Logan registered 18.5 tackles, two pass knockdowns and three interceptions for the Golden Hawks during the '05 season. He averaged 26 tackles a season with the Golden Hawks, including 36 in 2002, and had 10 career interceptions. He was also a leader on special teams.
Logan attended last year's CFL college evaluation camp.
"Ian had a solid career at Wilfrid Laurier," said Bombers General Manager Brendan Taman. "He will give us non-import depth, and will push for a roster spot. He's a good special teams prospect as well."
