Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release

GRAND CHUTE, WI -- Kuo Hui Lo doubled, homered, and drove in two runs to lead the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers to a 5-3 win over the Beloit Snappers on Thursday night. But, there was plenty of other action on Time Warner Cable Field. Wisconsin second baseman Ron Garth did something for the fifth game in a row. The Rattlers did something to Snapper starting pitcher Cole Devries that hadn't happened in over two months. Wisconsin reliever Steve Richard did something he had never done before as Wisconsin topped the Snappers 5-3 Thursday night.

Beloit (25-20 second half, 69-46 overall) got to Rattler starting pitcher Kyle Parker quickly in the first inning. Leadoff batter Joe Benson doubled. Steve Singleton was next and he homered to right for a 2-0 lead. Wilson Ramos and Eli Tintor followed with singles. Parker struck out the next two batters, but hit Danny Santiesteban to load the bases. Parker got out of the inning with another strikeout.

Wisconsin (18-27, 40-73) struck back quickly. Garth homered with one out in the first. This was the fifth straight game in which Garth has homered. It was also Garth's seventh homer in his last eight games. Next, Alex Liddi walked. Then, with two out Lo doubled to drive in Liddi with the tying run. Joe White singled to knock in Lo and the Rattlers led 3-2.

The Snappers tied the game in the top of the third. Danny Santiesteban singled in the tying run with one out.

Liddi gave the Rattlers the lead in the bottom of the fourth. A two-out RBI double to right-center knocked in Garth to put Wisconsin in front 4-3. Lo added to the lead with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the fifth.

The Rattler bullpen kept it 5-3 right to the end of the game. Keith Renaud allowed one hit over three innings to earn the win. Mike Wagner worked two scoreless innings. Steve Richard picked up his first professional save with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.

The final game of the four-game series is Friday night. Tony Butler (0-7, 6.84) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. The Snappers will send Tyler Robertson (7-2, 2.00) to the mound. Game time is 7:05pm.
