B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that linebacker Otis Floyd has been released.
"Otis was a very good player on the field and a tremendous leader in the room, but we are excited about the direction we're taking and there is going to be some great competition to fill his roster spot in 2009," said Lions' GM and head coach Wally Buono.
Floyd enjoyed five seasons as a Leo ('04 -'08) appearing in 84 regular season games notching 277 tackles and 25 sacks in that time. A three-time West Division All-Star ('05, '06 and '07) with the club as well as a CFL All-Star in 2006, Floyd departs the Lions as the club's leading tackler over the past five seasons.
