October 1, 2019 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
B.C. Lions News Release

(Vancouver) The BC Lions return to BC Place Saturday night at 7:00 pm to take on the Toronto Argonauts presented by Purolator.

Kids tickets presented by London Drugs start at just $10 per game and the popular $25 general admission Beach Party Zone is also available.

Saturday is the club's annual Purolator Tackle Hunger game and fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item in support of the Vancouver and Surrey Food Banks. Cash donations are even better with each dollar collected equal to 2 lbs. of food. As in past years, Lions wives and girlfriends will be situated outside Gates A and H to help collect donations. In return for their generosity, fans can have their picture taken with the Grey Cup.

The BC Lions 50/50 draw presented Belairdirect has been a big hit this season and fans across British Columbia can continue to get in on the winning with 50/50 tickets available on-line and province-wide - click here for more info.

Fall is in the air and it's the most exciting time of year for football fans. Before everyone heads inside BC Place they can get their game face on and check out the Nissan Tailgate Party featuring the Felions Dance Team, MEI Marching Band and the Lions Hype Team. There's food and beverage specials on the patio and a LIVE DJ too. It's all about the kids over to the Gate F in the Kids Zone presented by London Drugs featuring inflatables, face painting and more - click here for all the pre-game party details.

Game Preview

The Lions continue their late-season resurgence having put together three-consecutive wins heading into Saturday's game versus Toronto.

Quarterback Mike Reilly threw for 309 yards and a touchdown on Saturday versus Montreal with Simon Fraser grad Lemar Durant leading the way with 107 receiving yards. Durant is currently enjoying a career-year and sits just 191 yards from the 1000-yard plateau. Another player chasing the 1000-yard mark is running back John White (717), he'll need to average 71 yards per game to hit the magic number.

While the offence continues to get contributions from multiple players, the Lions' defence has certainly done its job as well. In addition to a last-second goal line stand in the win over Montreal, the Lions haven't surrendered more than 23 points in a game since the midway point of the season back in August. They'll need another complete effort versus a pass-happy Argos club that ranks second in the CFL throwing for 304 yards per game.

It's the Lions and the Argonauts in the next exciting chapter of 'win or else.'
