Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Lake Elsinore, CA - The Lake Elsinore Storm took advantage of seven Rancho Cucamonga errors on Tuesday night, dropping the Quakes by a final of 10-1 at The Diamond.

Quakes' starter Ted Lilly, making his second rehab appearance in two weeks for the Quakes, didn't get much help, as offensively, Rancho was limited to just one run.

Jonathan Garcia singled and eventually scored on a Scott Wingo hit, giving the Quakes a 1-0 lead in the second against Storm starter Matt Wisler (1-0).

Lilly couldn't hold that slim lead though, as the Storm tied the game in the second on an RBI double by Lee Orr, his first of four hits on the night.

The Storm took the lead for good, scoring a run on the first of the seven errors to take a 2-1 advantage.

Lake Elsinore got two more in the fourth, as Austin Hedges took Lilly (0-2) deep and Orr tripled and scored on Travis Jankowski's single, making it 4-1.

The Storm broke it open with five in the seventh and one for good measure in the eighth, taking a commanding 10-1 lead.

Rancho's offense struck out ten times over the final four innings, as Lake Elsinore's bullpen held the Quakes to just two hits over the final four frames.

Rancho will send Garrett Gould (0-1) to the hill for the rubber game of the series on Wednesday. The Storm will counter with lefty Frank Garces (1-1) with first pitch at 6:05pm.

Don't forget that the Quakes will return to LoanMart Field next Thursday night, hosting the High Desert Mavericks in a four-game series. Thursday is Thirsty Thursday, as fans can enjoy $2 domestic 16-oz drafts and 24-oz Pepsi products throughout the night. Tickets are available at (909) 481-5000 or online at rcquakes.com.
