Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The first-place IronPigs (52-37) play Game 2 of a four-game, home series against the Buffalo Bisons (41-42) at Coca-Cola Park... With a 4-3 loss in 10 innings last night, the Pigs snapped a four-game winning streak and fell short of a fifth-straight walk-off victory at Coca-Cola Park (the ML record for consecutive walk-off wins is five, set by the 1986 Houston Astros). Still, the Pigs have won 11 of their last 17 contests and own a 23-11 record since June 3. Lehigh Valley continues to lead the IL North by 5.5 games over the RailRiders, who have gone 18-9 since June 11 ... The Bisons -- Toronto's top affiliate -- have won three of their last four games. Still, the Bisons have gone just 7-13 since June 19 -- the last time they were at their high-water mark of five games (34-29).
RHP Tom Eshelman (1-7, 6.32) will start for LHV against LHP Matt Tracy (0-0, 0.00).
Tonight features postgame fireworks and an umbrella giveaway, presented by The Morning Call... First-Pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
