
Legion FC to Face Atlanta United at Protective Stadium

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Birmingham Legion FC announced on Thursday that it will welcome Major League Soccer club Atlanta United to Protective Stadium for a preseason friendly on Sunday, February 20. Kick off time to be announced at a later date.
The match will be the first-time soccer is played at the new home of Legion FC, and all 2022 season ticket packages will include a ticket to this BHMvATL clash.
Fans can renew or become a new season ticket holder now by contacting the Legion FC Ticket Office or heading to our 2022 Season Tickets page. Season ticket packages at Protective Stadium start at just $100 for all 17 USL Championship home games as well as any other friendly matches not yet announced.
"This exhibition is a great opportunity to play in our new home, Protective Stadium," said Jay Heaps, Legion FC President and General Manager. "We are excited to test ourselves and open our 2022 season against a premier MLS opponent in Atlanta United."
Atlanta United raised the bar in MLS after its establishment in 2017 by winning the 2018 MLS Cup, the 2019 U.S. Open Cup, the 2019 Campeones Cup, and consistently leads the league, and sets records, in attendance and fan support.
Legion FC's regular season will officially begin on Sunday, March 13 at 4:00pm as the two-time defending Eastern Conference champions Tampa Bay Rowdies come to Protective Stadium in the marquee matchup of the USL Championship's opening weekend.
