LeBlanc and Cameron Named Player and Student of the Month

November 5, 2013 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Saint John Sea Dogs News Release

SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs are pleased to announce Olivier LeBlanc has been named the Irving Oil Player of the Month for October, while Jason Cameron has been named the Canadian Tire Student of the Month.

LeBlanc, 17, tallied three goals and eight points in 11 games last month. The second-year Sea Dogs' blueliner was also named an alternate captain as part of the team's rotation of alternates this season. He is currently second in team scoring with 14 points.

Cameron, 20, has shown his dedication to his education this year from the beginning of the semester. The first to seek schedule information, he has been consistent in his preparation and study. His study habits were noted by more than one of his teammates during a recent road trip and the behaviour was significant enough that they had to talk about the fact that "Cammy was studying real late on the bus." He has shown true leadership this year, setting an example for the younger players and developing habits that will serve him well in the future.

The Sea Dogs' next game is Thursday, November 7th, against the Wildcats at the Moncton Coliseum. It's the fourth game of the Brunswick News Rivalry Cup, with Moncton holding a 2-1 series lead. Listen LIVE on News88.9 FM Watch LIVE on TELUS (fee applies).

Saint John's next home game is Friday, November 22nd, at 7:30 p.m. against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at Harbour Station. It will be the fourth game of the MOvember Challenge. Tickets are available at the Harbour Station box office, online at tickets.harbourstation.ca, or by calling 657-1234.
