
Late Goal Leads Blades to Victory

Saskatoon Blades News Release
The Saskatoon Blades scored with just 3 seconds remaining in the third period to pick up a 5-4 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday night in Saskatoon.
Despite jumping out to a 4-1 lead, the Blades allowed the Tigers back into the game with 3 unanswered Tiger goals in the third period.
Travis Toomey scored the power play game winning goal with just 3 seconds remaining while other Blades goals came off the sticks of John Flatters, Colton Gillies, Ondrej Fiala (PP), and Chris Durand. Meanwhile, the Tigers received their offense from Sean Ringrose, Tyler Ennis, Mark Isherwood (PP), and Bretton Cameron.
The Blades power play finished the night 2 for 9 on the power play while their penalty kill was 4 for 5.
Braden Holtby made 29 saves on 33 shots in goal for the Blades while Tomas Vosvrada made 14 saves on 17 shots before being pulled mid way through the 2nd period. Ryan Holfeld allowed 2 goals against on 6 shots faced in relief.
The Blades will now host the Kamloop's Blazers tomorrow night for the only meeting between the two teams this season.
