Flint Firebirds News Release

Flint, Mich. - Team Blue's Gage Tremblay struck with 20 seconds remaining in the game to lift Team Blue to a 3-2 victory over Team White Saturday afternoon before a near capacity crowd at the Firebirds official practice facility, Flint Iceland Arenas. After recording a shutout in the first game, returning Firebird goaltender Luke Cavallin was perfect between-the-pipes in game two again, making nine saves on nine shots.

With 55 seconds remaining in the first period, Team Blue's Kyle Harris used his speed to break in on Team White's goaltender Luke Cavallin. Harris pulled the puck to his backhand before a diving Cavallin sprawled out for a highlight reel save.

The game was scoreless after one period but Team Blue led in shots 9-7.

Team White's Grant Fontyn was first to strike Saturday afternoon. With 8:57 remaining in the second period, Tyler Deline fired the puck on net that was initially denied by Aidan Pitre. Fontyn was on the doorstep to earn Team White their first lead of the game.

However, 37 seconds later Team Blue tied it at one. Chris Colavecchia found Ryan Mansfield backdoor on the right side of the net who was able to find an opening with 8:20 remaining.

With 3:25 to play in the second period, Evan Vierling would earn Team White their second lead of the game. Ethan Keppen dished the puck to the slot from the right corner. With a quick release, Vierling fired short-side, low corner. Deline earned his second assist of the afternoon.

Chase Clark would keep the score 2-1 when making a highlight reel save with 1:17 remaining in the middle frame, denying Ryan Mansfield on the left side of the net.

Team White would tie the game with 10:13 remaining in the third period. Evan Boucher dished the puck to Austin Robinson on the right side of the net. Robinson fired short-side, top shelf over the left shoulder. Michael Bianconi was credited with the second assist.

Tremblay would add the game-winning tally with 20 seconds remaining in the contest, batting the puck out of mid-air. Winterton earned the lone assist on the go-ahead goal.

Team Blue won 3-2 but Team White led in shots 26-25.

A shootout followed after the game. Houston, Tremblay and Winterton would score for Team Blue. DaFonseca and Keppen found the back of the net for Team White.
