
L.A. Avengers to hold scrimmage/season ticket holder party

The Los Angeles Avengers will hold a scrimmage and host their annual season ticket holder party on Saturday, Jan. 8, at the newly renovated Avenger Training Facility at West L.A. College in Culver City. The Avengers are in preparation for their sixth season of play in the 19-year-old Arena Football League.
Lunch will be provided by Carl's Jr.
WHO:
Head coach Ed Hodgkiss and all the Avenger players, including "All-Arena" wide receiver/defensive back Kevin Ingram, wide receiver/linebacker Greg Hopkins and quarterback John Kaleo will sign autographs and mingle with fans after the scrimmage. Avenger owner Casey Wasserman, the "A-Team" dancers and the team's mascot "T.D." will also be in attendance, along with more than 1,500 Avenger fans. Wasserman, Hodgkiss and Kaleo will also participate in a question-and-answer session following the scrimmage.

Practice, which includes a scrimmage, starts at noon.

(West L.A. College is located off Overland in Culver City, a couple of blocks south of the intersection of Overland and Jefferson. The Avenger Training Facility is near the corner of Freshman and Sophomore Drives.)
NOTE:
The Avengers open the 2005 season on Jan. 30, on the road versus the Las Vegas Gladiators at the Thomas & Mack Center. The game will kick off at noon and be televised on KNBC Channel 4. The Avenger home opener will be on Feb. 4, at STAPLES Center versus the Georgia Force. That game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and be televised on FSN West.
