Salt Lake Bees News Release

Salt Lake Bees' pitcher Brett Kerry had a strong showing in his Triple-A debut as the Bees (24-35) took down the Tacoma Rainiers (34-24) 7-5 to earn their fourth straight victory.

Kerry allowed two runs in the first inning but settled in to concede just three total runs over five innings of work while striking out nine en route to his first win. The bullpen backed up Kerry to retain the lead as Jonathan Holder got the Bees out of a seventh-inning jam without additional damage after inheriting runners on second and third with no outs. Reyes Moronta followed Holder with a scoreless ninth inning to lock up his fifth save of the season.

All nine Salt Lake starters reached base safely, highlighted by Jordyn Adams' 3-for-5 night which included the Bees' fourth inside-the-park home run of the season. Adams also stole his 41st base of the year, tying the Salt Lake franchise record for most steals in a season. Jared Walsh and Orlando Martinez got the Bees out to an early 4-2 lead in the second inning as they each hit a round tripper in the frame. For Walsh, it was his 50th career home run in a Bees uniform. The Bees have seven total home runs in the first two games of the series with Tacoma. Adams' inside-the-parker was the Bees fourth of the 2023 campaign, setting a new franchise record for ITPHR's in a season.

The Bees will look to make it five straight wins in game three of the series against Tacoma. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
