It's a Party at the Park when the Kernels return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday, August 13th to open a three game home stand. Here's what you can expect over the next three games:
August 13-15 vs. Kane County
The Kernels open a three game home stand on Saturday, August 13th against the Kane County Cougars, the Midwest League Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. It's one of the biggest nights of the season - Cargill/Special Olympics Night on Saturday, August 13th. The night features a huge silent auction on the concourse and 50/50 raffle during the game and after the game, enjoy a spectacular fireworks show, thanks to Cargill and Special Olympics with media sponsor, Mix 96.5 FM. The game will also be televised locally on KCRG 9.2. Fireworks nights are always the toughest ticket to get so order early for the best seats. Gates open at 5:30 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Kane County is set for 6:35 pm.
Sunday is always a fun day and it's a 104.5 KDAT Sunday Family Day on Sunday, August 14th. Fans can get autographs from the Kernels on the concourse from 1:20 to 1:40 pm; enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon and face painting by Funny Face Designs by Lori; meet storybook princess Snow White, presented by Glass Slipper Entertainment; play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo; and run the bases and play catch in the outfield after the game, thanks to Wickwire Chiropractic and Wellness Center. The Kernels honor the 2011 inductees into the Cedar Rapids Baseball Hall of Fame in a pre-game ceremony, and also recognize members from the Kernels Booster Club. The Kernels welcome special guests from Linn Area Credit Union to the game. Gates open at 1:00 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Cougars is set for 2:05 pm.
The Kernels and Cougars wrap up their three game series on Monday, August 15th with first pitch set for 6:35 pm. Gates open at 5:30 pm.

Tickets for all Kernel home games are available on-line at www.kernels.com ; in person at the Kernels Ticket Office, or by calling 896-7560 during Ticket Office Hours. The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 am on Kernel Sunday Home games.
