Spring has finally made its arrival in eastern Iowa and your Cedar Rapids Kernels return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday, April 20th and open a seven-game home stand. Here's what you can expect these next seven games:

April 20-22 vs. Kane County

The Kernels host the Kane County Cougars, the Midwest League affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, in a three-game series starting Friday, April 20th.

You'll want to be here when the gates open at 5:30 PM on Friday, April 20th as the first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a FREE bobblehead of Kernels shortstop Royce Lewis. Royce was the #1 overall pick in the 2017 draft and one of the top prospects in all of minor league baseball. It's also a Kernels Friday Mug Club, sponsored by Stadium Bar & Grill, Shuey's Restaurant & Lounge, Reds Public House, Mulligan's Pub and Z 102.9. Get a 16 oz. refillable mug for $6 and get refills of regular draft beer and soda every Friday home Kernels game all year for just $3. And, the game will be broadcast LIVE on KCRG 9.2. First pitch between the Kernels and Kane County is set for 6:35 PM.

May the force be with you, or will you turn to the dark side? It's Star Wars Night at the Kernels as the first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a FREE Kernels Han Solo T-Shirt. The Kernels will be wearing special Star Wars jerseys that will be sold during the game via a silent auction, with the proceeds to benefit the East Central Iowa Autism Society. Come dressed as your favorite character from the Star Wars movies as players from the 501st Central Garrison will be on hand for photos throughout the game. Gates open at 4:00 PM and first pitch between the Kernels and Cougars is scheduled for 5:05 PM.

You'll want to be here early on Sunday, April 22nd as all kids 12-under can take part in an on-field Candy Hunt before the game. Gates open at 1:00 PM and the Candy Hunt will start at 1:15 PM. The first 500 fans through the gates receive a FREE 2018 Kernels Team Photo, thanks to Copyworks. All kids 12-under will receive a voucher for a FREE hot dog, popcorn and Capri Sun from the Kernels Concession Stands as part of Kids Eat Free Sunday, presented by Western Fraternal Life. After the game, fans can run the bases, play catch in the outfield and get autographs from the Kernels players as part of Run the Bases Sunday, presented by Prairie Farms and 104.5 KDAT. During the game, play Travel Advisors Baseball Bingo for a chance to win a trip to Minneapolis and see a Twins game. And, enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon and Face Painting by Kennedy on the concourse during the game. First pitch between the Kernels and Kane County is set for 2:05 PM.

April 23-26 vs. Burlington

The Kernels continue a seven-game home stand with four games against the Burlington Bees, the Midwest League affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, starting Monday, April 23rd.

It's our first Mark Down Monday of the season when the Kernels take on Burlington at 6:35 PM. Get regular hot dogs for just $1.50 all game and small popcorn, ice cream sandwiches and chips are just $1 each. Gates open at 5:30 PM.

Take advantage of an online coupon from the Kernels Facebook Page or email newsletter for a buy one ticket, get one FREE offer when the Kernels take on Burlington at 6:35 PM on Tuesday, April 24th as part of Twins Tuesday, presented by Great Clips. At Tuesday home games, one fan will win a pair of tickets to a Twins game, and the Kernels will wear special jerseys that will be sold via a silent auction on August 17th. Gates open at 5:30 PM.

It's our first Bark in the Park on Wednesday, April 25th when the Kernels take on the Bees at 6:35 PM. Fans can bring their dog to the game by purchasing a special "doggie' ticket either online or through the Kernels Ticket Office. Proceeds from the dog tickets will benefit Gems Forever and Critter Crusaders. The game will be broadcast on a tape-delayed basis on Mediacom MC22. Gates will open at 5:30 PM.

Every Thursday home Kernels game, fans age 18 and older can get a FREE raffle ticket for a chance to win one of three 40-inch flat screen TVs, thanks to First Federal Credit Union. Stop by their table on the concourse for a raffle ticket and you must be present to win. It's also 94.1 KRNA Thirsty Thursday where 12 oz. regular draft beer and 20 oz. bottled soda and water are just $2 all game. And, show your college ID at the Kernels Ticket Office and get a Club ticket and two regular hot dogs for just $9 as part of College Night. First pitch between the Kernels and Bees is set for 6:35 PM with the gates opening at 5:30 PM.

Tickets for all Kernel home games are available on-line at www.kernels.com; in person at the Kernels Ticket Office, or by calling 896-7560 during Ticket Office Hours. The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday and from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 AM on Kernel Sunday Home games.
