Kernels and Snappers Suspended

Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release


Cedar Rapids, IA - Thursday's game between the Beloit Snappers and Cedar Rapids Kernels has been suspended due to heavy rain in the Cedar Rapids area. The game will be resumed at 5:00 pm on Friday, May 4th with Beloit leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third with the Kernels batting and two out.

The first game will be completed to nine innings, followed approximately 30 minutes by Friday's scheduled game, shortened to seven innings. Gates open at 4:00 pm.

The Kernels wrap a nine game home stand on Friday with the Kernels Friday Mug Club, presented by Sip N Stir. The first 500 kids through the gates receive a free desktop gumball machine from the LA Angels. During the game, three lucky fans, age 18 and older, could win a 'new' used car thanks to Pat McGrath Chevyland. And the Kernels will wear special jerseys as part of MDA Night that will be sold during the game via a silent auction with the proceeds to benefit MDA.

Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.kernels.com, or by calling the Kernels Ticket Office at 896-7560. Ticket office hours are 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The current home stand concludes on Friday, May 4th.
