Jumbo Shrimp Roster Moves

September 7, 2017 - Southern League (SL) - Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a pair of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp roster prior to tonight's Game Two of the South Division Championship Series against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at Blue Wahoos Stadium at 7:35 p.m. eastern.

Right-handed relief pitcher Esmerling De La Rosa has been transferred to Jacksonville's disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. De La Rosa had not appeared in a postseason game for the Jumbo Shrimp.

In a corresponding move, left-handed relief pitcher Jeff Kinley has been transferred from High-A Jupiter to Jacksonville. Kinley pitched in 20 games for the Jumbo Shrimp in relief, going 0-1 with a 4.85 ERA and one save.

The Jumbo Shrimp roster stands at 25 active players, plus Miami Marlins first baseman Justin Bour on his rehab assignment, and a revised roster is attached.

The Jumbo Shrimp's 2017 playoff run presented by Community First Credit Union continues with Game Two of the best-of-five South Division Championship Series in Pensacola at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, when Jacksonville left-hander Matt Tomshaw is scheduled to face Blue Wahoos right-hander Jose Lopez. Fans can listen to playoff games on the Jumbo Shrimp Network presented by Community First, beginning at 7:20 p.m. Thursday with the pregame show "Shrimp On Deck" locally on FM 100.3 The Biz and AM 1600, on the TuneIn Radio app, and www.jaxshrimp.com.
