Jr Hat Tricks Alum Cody Hoban Shines in Sacred Heart Debut

January 6, 2021 - North American Hockey League (NAHL) - Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks News Release

Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks alum Cody Hoban made an immediate impact in his Sacred Heart Pioneers debut Wednesday night, notching a primary assist in a 4-3 overtime victory over the Air Force Falcons. He became the first Jr. Hat Trick to play in a Division-I hockey game after announcing his commitment to SHU on December 21st.

Hoban assisted on a Grant Anderson goal that sparked three unanswered goals for the Pioneers in the second period of the game. Sacred Heart would overcome a last-second tying goal in regulation time to steal a win in extra time. Hoban finished with an assist and three shots on goal.

Jr. Hat Tricks head coach Billy McCreary and the entire organization would like to congratulate Cody on a fantastic debut! Hoban was an elite performer in Danbury, having notched six points in six NAHL games, and we are tremendously excited to watch him continue to develop and grow at the Division-I level. The goal in bringing a North American Hockey League franchise to the Hat City was to grow the game in the state of Connecticut, and we are thrilled that a homegrown player like Cody has a chance to shine in Fairfield!

The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks are currently paused in their North American Hockey League schedule. They are currently adhering to regulations set by local health officials and await a re-evaluation of their schedule in the near future.
