
Johnson allows two hits in Mobile win

JACKSON, TN- Mobile starter Sean Thompson (1-3) pitched seven scoreless innings and won his first game of the season as the BayBears beat West Tenn 8-0. Michael Johnson was 4-for-5 for the BayBears, and hit his first two home runs of the season. Mobile had 13 hits as a team, including three by Luis Cruz, who fell a home run shy of a cycle. The BayBears will play four more games at Pringles Park on this five game road trip.
Thompson was followed by Paul Abraham who threw two scoreless innings in the win. The 8-0 score was the biggest margin of victory for the BayBears this season. West Tenn starter J.R. Mathes (4-3) took the loss. Mathes only pitched two innings, allowing four runs, before leaving with an injury.
The BayBears and Diamond Jaxx will play Thursday at 11:00 AM. All BayBears games can be heard on 1480 AM WABB, Comcast Cable Channel 18, and online through mobilebaybears.com.
