Frisco, Texas - FC Dallas defender Johnny Nelson and midfielder Paxton Pomykal underwent successful surgeries this morning to repair core muscle injuries.
The procedures were performed by Dr. William Meyers at the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia. Both players are expected to make full recoveries in approximately six weeks.
Nelson, 21, appeared in nine matches for FC Dallas this season and made his MLS debut in the 74th minute in his home state of Ohio against Columbus Crew SC on March 16. Nelson also started in seven matches for the reigning USL League One champion North Texas Soccer Club, playing 630 minutes.
