Jiminian Named TL Pitcher of the Week

Arkansas Travelers pitcher Johendi Jiminian has been named Texas League Pitcher of the Week for April 30-May 6 it was announced today by league President Tim Purpura. Jiminian made two starts over the past week and posted a 1-0 record. The right-hander pitched 10 total innings and allowed just one run on six hits while striking out nine. On May 1, he shutout Tulsa for 4.2 innings and then yesterday earned a win over Northwest Arkansas with 5.1 innings of one-run ball.
For the season, his 1.99 ERA ranks third in the Texas League while he holds a 2-1 overall record with 27 strikeouts in 31.2 innings. A 25-year old native of Nagua, Dominican Republic, Johendi Jiminian (pronounced yo-HEN-dee him-IN-ee-an) is in his first season with the Travelers and with the Mariners organization. He signed with Seattle as a minor league free agent last December after previously pitching in the Rockies organization.
