Jeremy Bonderman to Rehab with Whitecaps Saturday

COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The West Michigan Whitecaps, in conjunction with the Detroit Tigers, announced today that Tigers' pitcher Jeremy Bonderman is scheduled to start for the Whitecaps in a rehab assignment on Saturday, May 16 against Great Lakes at 7:00 p.m.

Bonderman was placed on the disabled list March 31 as he continued rehabilitation from thoracic outlet compression syndrome surgery. Bonderman went 3-4 with a 4.29 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 12 starts in 2008 before undergoing season-ending surgery to correct thoracic outlet compression syndrome. He has played six seasons with the Tigers, compiling a 59-66 record and a 4.74 ERA.

- Gates will open Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and fans are encouraged to arrive early.

- The West Michigan Glass Block Ticket Office at Fifth Third Ballpark will open at 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning for ticket sales.

- Fans can also purchase tickets and print them at home from the Whitecaps website at www.whitecapsbaseball.com.
