April 18, 2018 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Mississauga Steelheads News Release
The Mississauga Steelheads are pleased to announce the commitment of their first round pick from the 2018 OHL Priority Selection, James Hardie. Selected eighth overall, the 5'10", 154-pound left-winger is a product of the Barrie Jr. Colts.
A native of Innisfil, Ontario, Hardie recorded 70 points (41 goals, 29 assists) in 34 regular season games this year. He added six goals and seven assists in eight playoff games. Hardie is described as a goal scorer with a heavy shot who can beat defenders and finds open ice well. Head coach and general manager James Richmond looks forward to seeing him grow in Mississauga, adding "we are very excited to have James and his family join our Steelheads family. James brings a style of play that we think will fit with the team right away come the fall. We look forward to seeing James and his family at Prospect Camp this weekend."
The Steelheads are happy to welcome James and his family to Mississauga.
Hardie and fellow Steelheads' prospects will hit the ice this weekend for the Steelheads' 2018 Prospect Camp. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram to keep up with everything Steelheads.
