It's a Snap on Tap for May 3

April 15, 2019 - Canadian Football League (CFL) - Calgary Stampeders News Release

It's A Snap, presented by Fabutan, is back for a 29th season as the Calgary Stampeders' annual ladies-only football event will be held on Friday, May 3 at McMahon Stadium.

It's A Snap allows women to learn about football directly from Stampeders coaches and players. The event includes both classroom and on-field instruction and gives participants the opportunity to meet with Stamps players, coaches and fellow fans.

A special guest of honour at this year's It's A Snap festivities will be the Grey Cup trophy as the CFL's championship game will be played at McMahon Stadium on Nov. 24.

There are limited spaces open, so fans are encouraged to visit to reserve their place.

Friday, May 3

- Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.

- On-field program begins at 6 p.m. and the event concludes at 10:30 p.m.

The evening will begin with a welcome from president and general manager John Hufnagel and a pep talk from head coach Dave Dickenson. On-field sessions will follow as current Stamps players will run the participants through a series of drills to teach the fundamentals of passing, catching, kicking and tackling.

After the on-field sessions conclude, participants will head to the R&W Club for Football 101 as Stampeders coaches will break down the basics of CFL football and share a detailed understanding of some of the strategies used while preparing for games, leaving participants with a strong foundation of knowledge regarding Stampeders football.

The evening will conclude with an opportunity to mingle with players and staff with numerous door prizes up for grabs.

The cost of the session is $80 and each participant will receive an It's A Snap gift bag that includes two tickets to the Stamps' pre-season game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on May 31.

Please note this event is restricted to women ages 18 and over.
