(Harrisburg, PA) - The pieces seem to be in place, but the City Islanders once again walk away without a win.

It was a battle between two teams thirsty for a second win, but the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (1-3-5, 8 points) and the Harrisburg Islanders (1-5-4, 7 points) played to a 1-1 draw at Skyline Sports Complex on City Island.

And saying it was physical is an understatement.

Each team totaled 11 fouls. A yellow card was given to Pittsburgh's Matt Tuttle, while Harrisburg received four yellow cards, one on Hotckin, Bixler, Williams, and Pelletier respectively.

But even a competitive edge and an offensive push couldn't propel Harrisburg past Pittsburgh.

Harrisburg's Sheanon Williams tried to find the net with three shots including one just towards the left of the net, a short tap inside the box, and a rocket towards the upper right goalpost, but was denied by Riverhounds' goalkeeper Jason Stenta. Jason Hotchkin followed with two shots banking towards the right of the post in the 32nd and 26th minute. J.T. Noone shot a ball that clipped the crossbar while Philadelphia Union loan player Nick Zimmerman added an attempt, giving the Islanders seven shots on goal in the first half.

In the early minutes of the second half Travis Mackenzie slipped a shot past Islanders goalkeeper Danny Cepero giving the Riverhounds a 1-0 lead.

For the Islanders, Williams added another attempt in the 60th minute when he tried to sneak a well-placed ball into the back of the net, but a diving save by Stenta stopped the play. In the minute following, Zimmerman shot just over the crossbar sending Stenta diving once again. Moments later Islanders' captain Dustin Bixler headed towards the net after a corner kick but was just shy of the inside left post.

Harrisburg finally found the back of the net as Zimmerman placed a beautiful shot into the right corner after teammate Goeff Bloes had his shot deflected off of Stenta in the 85th minute.

The Islanders had an explosiveness needed to succeed, but lacked the conclusive touch to notch Harrisburg's second win of the season over a Pittsburgh squad that tallied nine shots the entire match. Riverhounds' players Lee Kouadio-Tobey and Chad Severs both had attempts in the first half, while the rest in the second coming from teammates Tommy Gray, Travis Mackenzie, and Matt Tuttle.

The next game at Skyline Sports Complex for the City Islanders is against non-USL Second Division squad the Brooklyn Italians in a US Open Cup match. Then, next Saturday, June 19, the Islanders face the Richmond Kickers (4-3-3, 15 points).
